WJM Professional Services, LLC is a leading healthcare management firm with 19 years of experience providing healthcare personnel, case management services, and administrative staffing services to hospitals, clinics, the private sector, and government agencies, including the Defense Health Agency, the United States Air Force, Army, Navy, Coast Guard, National Guard, and the Department of Veterans Affairs.

We are currently recruiting for a full-time Pharmacy Technician to provide services at the United States Coast Guard Clinic in Washington, DC.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide a full range of professional Pharmacy concepts, practices, and services, including:

  • Prepare, package, compound, label, and dispense pharmaceutical products and medications.
  • Receive, review, and process prescriptions utilizing the pharmacy's computer program/system.
  • Ensure accuracy and confidentiality of all patient documentation in compliance with HIPAA.
  • Review orders written by authorized providers. (i.e., Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Dentists, Health Services Technicians, etc.)
  • Maintain pharmacy logs, inventory levels, and other records as required.
  • Provide patient counseling relative to a medication's use, contraindications, and product warnings.
  • Order and restock pharmacy supplies; inventory medical and pharmaceutical product stocks to ensure adequate supplies and inventory controls.
  • Receive and process prescription refills by phone and communicate effectively with the patients, providers, and other ancillary personnel.
  • Prepare and submit appropriate documentation as specified in applicable regulations and provide immediate evaluation and management of emergent problems as they occur.
  • Perform other administrative work as assigned by the Pharmacist or Clinic Administrator and maintain required pharmacy security.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma/certification from an accredited Pharmacy Technician school.
  • Individuals not graduating from an accredited school must provide proof of a minimum of 1 year of work experience (immediately preceding the submission of this offer) in a military, federal, civilian retail, or hospital pharmacy providing like services. New or recent graduates (within the past 4 months) without experience will be placed on a 90-day probationary period upon hire. They must provide two letters of recommendation from their Pharmacy Technician school professors/instructors, detailing their expected potential success in this field.
  • A current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) for the Health Care Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI), or the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP).Minimum of 1 year of experience in medical office scheduling or as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
  • No adverse information on file with the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) or any state Board of Pharmacy.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, confidentiality practices, and accreditation standards
