Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) Needed NOW

Work When Your Schedule Permits

 

The National Institutes of Health (NIH), located in Bethesda, MD, needs CNAs to work twelve-hour shifts 7:00 AM-7:30 PM or 7:00 PM-7:30 AM 7 days a week.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support using attentive listening, verbal validation, and simple and clear direction.
  • Provide a safe environment for the patient and always remain in direct line of sight.
  • Aid with all activities of daily living as needed.
  • Engage the individual, as tolerated, in structured interactive activities that are enjoyable to provide psychological stimulation.
  • Maintain a clean, dry, and clutter-free environment.
  • Remove hazards in the room that may contribute to falls.
  • Place all items in a position that allows a safe exit from the bed.
  • Seek assistance when needed and ask questions without hesitation to ensure patient care and safety.
  • Provide “hand off report” to staff for break times and end of shift.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of CNA experience in a healthcare setting
  • Up to date Certified Nursing Assistant license from any state
  • Up-to-date CPR/BLS from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
