Case Management Support Member
Non-Mission Essential
Positions designated as “Non-Mission Essential” may be released from reporting to duty or staying on duty due to base closures, early dismissal, or late reporting due to weather conditions, emergency situations or general dismissal authorizations. Base leadership will determine if non-mission essential personnel shall report for, or remain on duty, on a case by case basis.
The Texas Army National Guard has contracted with WJM Professional Services LLC for the purpose of providing non-clinical medical and dental case management and administration services in support of Individual Medical Readiness (IMR) to include identification and tracking of Soldiers who are not Fully Medically Ready (FMR). This includes Periodic Health Assessment (PHA) support, Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP) support, and Soldier Readiness Certification (SRC) support.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- A minimum of one (1) year experience working in a healthcare setting that utilizes medical terminology and medical records within the last three (3) years.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, state-mandated automobile insurance, and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work under the direction and supervision of a Case Manager.
- Knowledge of computer operations and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel programs, data entry, and automated medical records.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the military personnel.
- Excellent written communication skills to ensure accurate documentation, both written and electronic, of all activity in accordance with requirements.
Performance Requirements
- Contractor’s service is designated as Non-mission Essential Personnel.
- Compiles verifies and files medical records of patients. Makes copies of medical records, may schedule and post results of laboratory test into the medical record. Prepares folders and maintains records of newly admitted patients.
- Reviews contents of patients’ medical record folders and files according to established procedure. Reviews correspondence for format accuracy and content in accordance with AR 25-50 and Department of the Army Memo 25-52.
- Assist in resolving scheduling conflicts for Soldiers needing Medical or Dental care as assigned by the Case Manager.
- Prepare and submits Weekly Dental Treatment Reports (DTR). Once approved by the DSS prepare and submit, the weekly Situational Report (SITREP) for assigned office.
- Provide medical and dental administrative support and submit actions as required.
- Provides support to medical portions of the State Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP) Program. Provide the aforementioned support personnel to all states and territories in the Army National Guard as required. Support personnel shall directly support the Deputy State Surgeon (DSS).
- Compiles, verifies, and files medical records of patients and compiles statistics for use in reports and surveys. Compiles daily and periodic statistical data.
- Prepare reports and answer ad hoc queries using data from the ARNG Patient Tracking Report on GKO or Soldier Patient Locator (SPL) modules in MODS.
- Effectively uses appropriate communication format in addressing professional issues.
- Works closely with other offices on related medical issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Hours & Locations
- Camp Mabry, Austin, TX and occasionally at other armories located in Texas. Your normal work schedule will align with the requirements of the contract and normally will be 8.5-hour days, Monday through Friday, except Federal holidays. All schedules include a 30-minute non-paid meal break. Employees are required to be available during the core hours of 0900 to 1500 hours daily. Flextime must be approved in advance by your Program Manager and cannot start earlier than 0600 or later than 0900. Special events may require working outside of the normal work schedule and include weekends.
Physical Demands
- This position requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling and stooping. Employee may frequently lift and/or move items over 25 lbs.
