Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist (MT/CLS)

We are currently recruiting for a Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist (MT/CLS) at U.S. Coast Guard (Nationwide Clinic Locations).
Key Responsibilities:

Perform and interpret hematology and urinalysis testing.

Perform CLIA-waived and other laboratory testing.
-
Evaluate and interpret bacteriology and chemistry results.
-
Evaluate and interpret blood bank and serology results.
-
Maintain acceptable analytical performance for test systems.
-
Serve as laboratory technical consultant under CLIA.
-
Monitor staff competency in specimen and test processing.
-
Order, restock, and inventory laboratory supplies.
-
Respond to emergent laboratory needs as they arise.

Prepare and submit required documentation.
-
Participate in the clinic's Quality Improvement Program.

Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's degree from an accredited MT/CLS program.
-
Current ASCP certification as an MT or CLS.
-
Current BLS certification.
-
2 years of recent clinical MT/CLS experience.
-
No adverse NPDB information on file.
-
Proof of $1,000,000 malpractice insurance.
-
U.S. citizen or authorized to work full-time in the U.S.
-
Proficient in spoken and written English.
-
Must pass a NACLC background investigation (HSPD-12).
-
Must pass a pre-employment physical exam.
-
Current on required immunizations (flu, MMR, varicella, Hep B).
-
Able to stand for extended periods and ambulate normally.
-
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
-
Meets or exceeds MT/CLS industry standards of care.

Performs full scope of MT/CLS duties on-site.
