We are currently recruiting for a Medical Support Assistant at the VAMC Escondido CBOC.

Key Responsibilities:

The Medical Support Assistant shall provide clerical support and administrative functions to support site functions.

• The Medical Support Assistant is responsible for the provision of covered services to assigned and unassigned patients presenting for care.
• Provides clerical support and administrative functions to PACT staff and collaborates with PACT staff to incorporate the logistical elements of care coordination into comprehensive care management plans.
• Provides guidance and direction to patients and personal support persons for navigating the VA health care system and administrative functions in the VA.
• Provides scheduling services in accordance with the VA policies and guidance.

Qualifications:

• Have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Oral and written proficiency in English.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must be able to type a minimum of 50 WPM.
