WJM Professional Services, LLC is a leading healthcare management firm with 20 years of experience providing healthcare personnel, and administrative staffing services to government agencies, including the Defense Health Agency, the United States Air Force, Army, Navy, Coast Guard, National Guard, and the Department of Veterans Affairs.

We are currently recruiting for a part-time Payroll Specialist to provide services at WJM Professional Services corporate office. The position is remote.

Key Responsibilities:

The Payroll Specialist uses excellent mathematical and data entry skills to process pay and benefits for all employees. Experience processing or auditing payroll with the use of software such as Excel, QuickBooks, and Paychex or ADP. Main responsibility will be to collect and verify employee hours, calculate wages in multiple states, and process paychecks or direct deposits according to multiple payroll schedules.

  • The Payroll Specialist shall process accounting transactions.
  • Utilization of payroll and HR management and data analysis software.
  • Utilization of a software system for processing accounting transactions.
  • Reconciliation of financial records or statements, typically using record comparison methods of analysis.
  • Reconciliation of account balances of an organization.
  • Check timesheets for accuracy.
  • Enter data into databases and spreadsheets.
  • Process direct deposit and paper checks for distribution.
  • Obtain all necessary signatures to distribute payroll via the software system.
  • Process wage garnishments.
  • Adjust personnel pay for raises and bonuses.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in accounting or 3-5 years' of experience in a payroll department.
  • Experience with or knowledge of account principles, including the recording and measurement of business or financial transactions in any field of practice. 
  • Experience in processing or auditing payroll with the use of Excel or software.
  • Experience or skill entering data into a database or computer software.
  • Experience using a 10-key calculator.
  • Knowledge or experience with financial transactions for organizations or individuals.
  • Knowledge managing the various forms of employee monetary compensation.
